Project Description

This 48,500-seat ballpark is home to the Arizona Diamondbacks. It includes 69 luxury boxes, six party boxes, 4,400 club-level seats, 1,200 field-level seats, retail, and numerous concession and restaurant venues. Chase Field is an indoor stadium with a retractable roof and natural grass playing field. The 21.9-acre ballpark was completed in 25 months.

Although the stadium is tremendous in size, the construction site was comparatively small. Three out of four sides of the facility are surrounded by existing structures. Because of the site’s proximity, helicopters were used to lift supplies onto the roof. Cranes and materials had to be kept operating vertically over the top as well as horizontally.

The company’s biggest challenge was coordinating the logistics of 270 subcontractor and vendor crews, equipment and material deliveries. Partnering strategies were in place early to effectively communicate the needs of both the Diamondbacks and Stadium District to the construction team. ҹɫè demonstrated outstanding leadership and teamwork in constructing one of Arizona’s main year-round attractions.

“Perini’s on-site personnel, especially their project manager and general superintendent are doing a good job of aggressively planning and executing the work. The Perini workforce is very professional. I highly recommend them.”
